Your One-Day Shira Plateau Kilimanjaro hike Your exciting one-day journey begins with an early pickup from your lodging in the charming town of Moshi. After breakfast, travel to Kilimanjaro National Park for a scenic drive that takes one and a half to two and a half hours, depending on where you are. This leads to Kilimanjaro National Park, where the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro is located. Your adventure starts at the Londorossi Gate (2,100 meters) on the mountain's western flank, escorted by a knowledgeable Kizza Adventures guide. Here, you'll sign up, get to know your teammates, and begin your climb.

SHIRA PLATEAU DAY HIKE ITINERARY


Beginning in Arusha or Moshi
To maximize the day, depart from Moshi or Arusha early in the morning.You will begin at 6:00 am if you are starting from Arusha and 7:30 am if you are starting from Moshi. Londorossi Gate, the gateway to Kilimanjaro National Park, is about two hours from Moshi and three hours from Arusha by car.
Gate of Londorossi to Murrum Barrier
You must complete some documentation at Londorossi Gate before you may begin your journey. It takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes to drive from Londorossi Gate to Murrum Barrier, where your climb will start.
Shira Plateau to Murrum Barrier
It takes two to three hours to hike from Murrum Barrier to Shira Plateau. You will go around 4 kilometers at this period. From roughly 3,400 meters at Murrum Barrier to 3,700 meters at Shira Plateau, you will be climbing in elevation. After a relaxation time and having your lunch, you will begin to descent to Londorossi Gate and drive back to Moshi or Arusha.
